This Easter we are inviting you to a Passover Seder meal at our Community Center.
The Passover Seder is a special meal that marks the beginning of the celebration of the Passover feast (known to us as Easter). It is traditionally celebrated the night before Passover. You might have heard about the famous passover meal Jesus and His disciples shared called ‘the last supper’.
Why a Seder Meal?
The Seder Meal is the meal Jesus shared with His disciples before his death. It is filled with rich biblical symbolism and incredible prophetic pictures of the gospel. Celebrating it will not only be fun and delicious, it will make you understand God’s salvation work in a unique way.
What can you expect?
A seder traditionally consists of a meal and a retelling of the story of the Exodus. It originated out of Exodus 13:8 where God commanded the people of Israel to keep it. It is usually celebrated with the whole family. Our seder will be led by Crossroaders Itay & Debi Pollak, who are Jewish and have celebrated the Seder in Israel.
We will loosely follow the text of the Haggadah, which contains the narrative of the Israelites leaving Egypt, special blessings and a few special Passover songs :).
There is no formal dresscode for this event, this will be a fun and family-friendly setting.
We will serve the traditional Passover plate paired with yummy Middle Eastern dishes.
