Tax Deductible Regulation in The Netherlands

In the Netherlands, the tax office allows you to deduct your gifts from your income. You can give up to 10% of your income and deduct it for tax purposes, meaning you don’t have to pay income tax on those contributions. However, there is a threshold: only the portion of your giving that exceeds 1% of your income is tax-deductible.

There is a solution to maximize these benefits, called periodic giving. With periodic giving, you pledge to donate a certain amount per year for at least five years. The tax office has developed forms for this type of giving. By making this pledge, the initial 1% of your income becomes tax-deductible, and any contributions exceeding 10% are also deductible.

This could mean that money currently going to the tax office could instead support the church. You could up your giving without it costing you more. If you are interested, please let us know, and we can provide you with the necessary forms.
