Brigitte Vonck – Serve The City Amsterdam

About Brigitte Vonck
I am here to make a difference and to inspire and help others to do the same. I deeply believe that helping others will change something in your own heart and that little thing that changed in your heart will make the world a better place.

So that’s what I do, create opportunities for people to serve, to feel connected and to feel a sense of beloning and worthy as person whatever talent you bring. Everybody can serve and make a difference.

I like to start new things, I love to write and to find the perfect volunteering opportunity for people from 0-80 years old.

About Serve The City Amsterdam
Serve the City Amsterdam was founded in 2006 by Brigitte Vonck-Makkinje as part of a global volunteer movement.

Every week we organize a variety of social, practical, environmental, and culinary volunteer activities in Amsterdam. Examples include:
  • Cleaning up parks
  • Baking pancakes for people experiencing homelessness
  • Gardening at a city farm
  • Taking friendly walks with elderly residents
Our shared goal is to bring the people of Amsterdam closer together and make our city more livable for everyone.

In addition, we organize a monthly Serve the City Action Day, where all our volunteers come together to roll up their sleeves and spread kindness across the city.
