Cost
The total costs are between € 400 – € 500 for the retreat, depending on your choice of room and restaurant.
You pay € 135 per couple for the retreat to XRDS, and between € 225 – € 315 to the hotel for your lodging (depending on the room you book). Included in the price are:
• A drink and a snack at arrival on Friday evening
• A couples’ gift package on arrival
• Buffet Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday
• Inspiring teaching by Pastor Hud McWilliams
Lunch (at the hotel around € 25 per couple) and dinner on Saturday evening are not included in the price. There are several attractive options at the hotel or nearby.
Registration is a two-step process:
Please first make your room booking at the hotel here: https://www.hethogeduin.nl/nl/. You may use our unique booking code to receive a room discount. Booking code: crossroads. Note that hotel bookings can be made from March 1st, 2021.
After you have booked your room, please register for the event on this page. Registration will close two weeks before the event on September 23rd. You will receive a payment link to wire the remaining EUR 135. You will receive an e-mail confirmation once we have received your payment. Book before May 1st, 2021 to receive an early Bird discount on your retreat fee (€ 125 i.s.o. € 135). Please make sure we have your payment in before that date to enjoy the discount. Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds. For the hotel rooms group booking conditions apply which are more strict than usual (free cancellation more than 3 months before start date). The hotel has agreed to reimburse us if COVID restrictions for groups <30 still apply in the fall (we hope not!). For more info see our Q&A.
Theme
The theme of this marriage retreat is ‘A Healthy Marriage’. Ps Hud will guide us into taking an inventory of our marriage relationship to help us love another more deeply with the love of Christ. Where do you stand and in what areas can you improve? You’ll receive some valuable input to help you grow in your love for one another and there will be time to process this together as a couple. As an additional option, we offer the Prepare/Enrich ‘Check-up’ questionnaire. The cost of this is € 50 per couple. You will receive a report with specific talking points. This test is a great tool to receive more personalised input. If you’d like to make use of this, please indicate on the sign-up form.
Counselling Sessions
On Saturday afternoon we optionally offer counselling sessions for couples with Ps Hud and Lennart & Lydia ten Hove. We have a total of four slots (of 90 min) available. We ask you to fill out the marriage check-up with Prepare/Enrich (cost is € 50 per couple, you will receive a link). If you’d like to make use of this, please indicate on the sign-up form. This is optional. First come first serve.
Pastor Hud McWilliams
Hud and Nancy McWilliams have ministered together for over 40 years with various ministry capacities, missions organisations and church planting ministries and currently are serving under the covering of Global Training Network. Hud has been in private practice as a licensed psychologist for over 40 years. He specialises in relational seminars, and intensives, and is an adjunct professor at the Denver Theological Seminary.
Hud and Nancy have led Couple’s Seminars, Relational Retreats and seminars, parenting seminars, and conferences together. They met in high school and have been married for 52 years. They have three married children and four grandchildren, and reside in Denver, Colorado, the United States.
Q&A
We are not part of XRDS, can we join?
Members and participants of XRDS the Hague, XRDS Geneva, XRDS Barcelona and the garden church are warmly invited to join for this event. All the material provided will be in English.
We are engaged, can we join?
Engaged couples are allowed to join! The hotel has a limited amount of single rooms available. Please register together for the event on our website and book two single rooms on the hotel website accordingly. We will send you some additional guidelines for the weekend as the event approaches.
I am single, can I join?
This event is tailored to couples. We’d like to ask singles to keep an eye out for singles activities on our XRDS website.
I have a pet, can I bring it?
As long as the hotel accommodation allows you to bring your pet you are welcome to bring him/her. Please note that we cannot allow pets in the main meeting room on Saturday and Sunday.
Is parking included in the price?
Yes there is free parking at the hotel
I cannot make it to the event, can I get a refund?
Because this is a pre-planned group event we unfortunately cannot grant refunds. We will try to help you swap your reservation with someone, but we cannot give any guarantees
We would like to join the retreat but are not able to cover the costs
